Overview

'Bad Street' was produced for an assignment on '2D Games Creation'.

Based on old-school arcade beat-em-ups such as 'Double Dragon' and 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles', the player is tasked with clearing the titular thoroughfare by fighting off waves of enemies.
Role
This solo assignment involved a very demanding deadline of just 4 weeks.

This required a strong time management and the use of online resources such as Itch.io to source the art.
The underlying systems (character movement, enemy AI, combat, camera, etc) were all developed using Unreal Engine 5 Blueprint.

Outcome

I achieved my aim of developing a vertical slice of an old-school beat-em-up game.

Feedback comments focused on the fact that the game was fun, polished and challenging.

In response, the project was awarded a First with a total score of 85%.
